Hi ladies,

Once again, great job last week ladies! I was pleased with the play in singles and on all 3 doubles courts. Our only loss came on court 2 doubles, but my ladies fought hard until the very end. I was proud to see that there was no quit in either one of you. The difference in that third set tie breaker was shot selection and execution of shots when opportunities presented themselves. Like I told you ladies before, don't worry and hold your heads high. I was proud of the way you both played throughout the entire match.

In your match tomorrow night, please go back and read blog 3.02. It's suppose to be nice out tomorrow night, plus the weather has turned the corner finally. The conditions will be a lot warmer than last time. I hope that you ladies will stay hydrated throughout the day so that the heat won't be that much of an issue for you all. Make sure you bring a towel and plenty of water and Gatorade. Take your time on the change overs and use as much time as you need if you feel that the heat is getting to you. I'm sure you ladies will be fine tomorrow night though. The heat won't be that bad. The only thing you may have to worry about is the wind from time to time. If it gets windy when you're about to serve, take more time and wait for the wind to calm down before you toss the ball up. Use more slices and spin on your serves when playing outdoors. If the sun is in your eyes when you are serving, remember to adjust your toss. You can also use your tossing hand to help block out the sun after you toss the ball up in the air. When you are lobbing the ball, focus on getting the ball up high in the air and not so much how deep you are sending the lob. Continue to focus on your shot selection and finishing off points when your opportunities present themselves. Those are two key factors that will help you ladies take that next step in your games and reach the goal we have set for this team this summer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking ahead, I'm looking back on past experiences and mistakes that were made that contributed in our demise last season. Use your minds and play with more heart than your opponent(s) and we will be able to accomplish great things. Play together, play smart, communicate and move. Attack weaknesses and don't ever let up on your opponent(s) until the match is won.
