Be mindful

We get so caught up in our own lives that we sometimes forget or lose track of how we affect others around us (children especially). The little things in life that we take for granted. The fact that we can wake up every morning and get where we need to go on our own two feet should keep us mentally in a good place knowing there are people that aren't as fortunate. We all need help in some shape, form or fashion. The human element doesn't allow us to be perfect even though a lot of us strive to be. We live in a sensitive society where we have to always watch what we do and watch what we say, because those actions that were once a normality are now offensive to certain people. People must also understand the emotional aspect that plays a big part in ones actions. That's why you see so many professional athletes and entertainers apologizing for things they have said in the "moment". We shouldn't be so quick to judge them for saying what they truly feel or felt at that "moment" in time, unless what was said was completely out of line. We all come from different walks of life. We were all raised a different way. We have all experienced different things growing up that have shaped our thoughts and our actions as we continue to evolve. My mom told me when I was a young boy to never act like you're better than everybody else. Treat people the way you like to be treated, which is with respect. Although in sports, you have to believe that you are better than everybody else in order to gain that competitive edge over your opponent(s). Respect your opponent(s), but don't fear them. Give it your all and leave it all out on the line so at the end of the day you have zero regrets. Live now, have fun and be your best you!

Always believe,

Shaun.
